Stumbled across this project today... Basically this program creates 'error correction codes' of your uncorrupted originals, and then later if the dvd/cd gets horribly scratched it can use those codes to rebuild the gaps from any unreadable sections of the disc. More space-friendly than trying to backup full images of all your movies/games/etc.
